Haar clearing Saturday morning. The odd afternoon shower.

Today:

East coast haar burning back to the coast to leave a mainly dry and bright Saturday. Clouding over later, chance of an afternoon thundery shower, most likely higher ground of northern and western Perthshire. Haar lingering along the coast. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers gradually die away through the evening. Low cloud or coastal fog pushes back in through the night with the odd spot of drizzle. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday:

Generally cooler and cloudier on Sunday, especially in the morning, but still mainly dry. Some brighter spells possible later towards Fife, and the odd shower over high ground. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudier Monday morning with brighter, sunny spells in the afternoon. Occasional coastal fog Tuesday and Wednesday, with the chance of heavier showers between brighter spells in afternoons.

Most likely an unsettled start to the period with western showers and eastern rain, potentially heavy in the northeast, before a transient settled spell late in the week. Early in the bank holiday weekend a band of rain, heavy at times moves in from the west, becoming weaker as it moves east becoming more showery in nature with scattered showers also following. Into the new week increasingly settled conditions more likely for most, though rain may threaten north-western areas early on whilst some southern or eastern areas occasionally less settled with showers more likely later in the period though there will be some sunshine between times, the best of this in south-western parts. Temperatures are likely to be a little above average, but some large spatial differences are likely.

There is nothing to suggest that conditions will be massively different to climatology at the end of the current month and though the first half of June. That said, both temperatures and rainfall are more-likely to be a little above average overall, with further rain or showers (possibly heavy/thundery at times) but also some spells of warm sunshine.
